Asian recycled polyethylene terephthalate prices at $720/mt FOB Southeast Asia on Nov. 19, stable day over day, amid limited demand. Food-grade recycled PET had a slight increase due to limited supply, sources said. Low downstream demand and soft virgin polyethylene terephthalate pricing continued to suppress buying interest in recycled PET across key Asian markets, trading sources in Asia said. Deals for recycled polyester fibers for clothing applications remained thin, with buyers favoring cheaper virgin material. Bottle-grade recycling demand was also reported to be low across non-mandated countries in Asia, with PET bottlegrade prices at $745/mt FOB Northeast Asia and flakes prices estimated to be more than $150/mt cheaper, the sources added.
