Asian polyvinyl chloride prices were mostly firmer in the week to July 29, bolstered by a Taiwanese producer’s hike in August shipment offers and the Indian government’s implementation of a minimum import price. PVC CFR China prices $30/metric ton higher week over week at $810/mt July 29, while CFR Southeast Asia was assessed $45/mt higher over the same period at $780/mt. A Taiwanese producer was heard to have raised August PVC offers by $45-$50/mt compared to July, with CIF prices at $810/ mt for China, $860/mt for India and $840/mt for Southeast Asia. “The Southeast Asian market is somewhat on the sidelines; deals are being done, but activity is not particularly strong,” a South Korean producer said. “Southeast Asia is buying steadily, while demand remains moderate,” a Chinese producer said....
