Asian PVC: Prices steady to weak amid uncertainty over potential India ADD / China ramps up PVC exports to Southeast Asia / FOB China ethylene-based PVC prices now lower than carbide-based PVC

Asian PVC prices were stable to weak during the week ended Nov. 5, reflecting a cautious market sentiment as participants await clarity on India's antidumping duties. The prevailing market conditions have prompted many market participants to adopt a wait-and-see approach, leading to subdued trading activity across the region. PVC CFR China prices steady at $690/mt for the week ending Nov. 5. Similarly, PVC CFR Southeast Asia prices remained stable at $650/mt for the same period. "Nothing changed this week, and [most producers] are just monitoring the market," a Northeast Asian producer said. Meanwhile, Southeast Asian producers are concerned that if India proceeds with the ADD, it could lead to increased price competition among regional producers.
