Asian PVC: Prices steady to weak amid market uncertainty / Southeast Asia demand-supply fundamentals largely unchanged / Impending India's ADD triggers buyers' caution

Asian PVC prices were stable to weak during the week ended Oct. 29, as market participants adopted a wait-and-see approach amid ongoing market uncertainties. PVC CFR China prices steady week over week at $690/mt on Oct. 29, reflecting indications of stable prices from market participants. Similarly, PVC CFR Southeast Asia prices remained unchanged at $650/mt for the same period. Market participants noted that the underlying demand supply fundamentals did not shift significantly from the previous week, with persistent oversupply and weak demand prevailing in the market. "Most buyers are in a wait-and-see mode, not in a hurry to buy, and are closely monitoring market sentiment post-Diwali," a Southeast Asian producer said.
