Asian PVC FOB China falls amid slowing export demand / China's domestic consumption weak despite increases in DCE futures / Producers are cautious amid mixed opinions about the rising freight

In the week ending June 18, Asian PVC prices varied. Export prices in China were weak to stable due to poor demand, but domestic prices were rangebound. The carbide-based PVC markets in China remained weak. However, the Dalian Commodity Exchange saw an increase in PVC futures as concerns about crude oil supply disruptions increased due to the Iran-Israel conflict. CFR China PVC was $710/mt, unchanged from the previous week. China's domestic PVC market saw ethylene-based PVC drop Yuan 30/mt and Yuan 4,930/mt. Carbide-based PVC increased Yuan 50/mt for Yuan 4,750/mt. FOB China Ethylene Based PVC fell $10/mt from the previous week to $605/mt on June 18. Carbide-based PVC remained unchanged at $590/mt.
