Asian polymeric methylene diphenyl diisocyanate, toluene diisocyanate and slabstock polyol prices rose in the week ended Nov. 21. CFR India PMDI up $101/metric ton week over week at $1,750/mt Nov. 21, below an offer at $1,850/mt and a selling indication heard at $1,850/mt. Domestic prices increased by Rupees 10-12/kg week over week, reaching Rupees 155-160/kg. A South Korea-based producer announced a $200/ mt increase for MDI products in South Asia, citing higher transportation, energy and regulatory costs. A source close to the development indicated the increase would extend to TDI. A Japan-based producer said, “PMDI has touched a twoyear low until recently, and is now picking up.” The source also mentioned that prices might rise to Rupees 165/kg by mid-December.
