Asian bottle-grade PET prices softened in the week to July 29 as buyers adopted a cautious approach amid volatile crude prices. PET FOB China at $990/metric ton on July 29, down $10/mt from the previous week. PET FOB Southeast Asia fell $15/mt to $1,080/mt over the same period. Upstream, the ICE September Brent futures contract declined $6.61/barrel week over week to $87.34/b at 4:30 pm Singapore time (0830 GMT) on July 29. Feedstock prices showed a mixed trend. Asian PTA at $803/mt FOB China, down $28/mt week over week, while Asian MEG rose $28/mt to $640/mt CFR China over the same period.
