Asian paraxylene prices fell July 31, in line with lower upstream markets. the Asian paraxylene CFR Taiwan/China and FOB Korea markers at $1,079/metric ton and $1,058/mt, respectively, July 31, both falling $13/mt on the session. Upstream, the front-month ICE Brent futures contract fell $3.89/b to $88.20/b, while the naphtha C+F Japan marker $37.25/mt lower on the session at $836.50/mt. Chinese futures markets fell on the trading session. The PTA2609 and PX2609 contracts on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange closed at Yuan 5,782/mt and Yuan 8,162/mt, respectively, falling Yuan 62/mt and Yuan 124/mt, respectively, on the trading session. In floating price discussions, an offer for October-arrival CFR Taiwan/China cargo was heard at a premium of $33/mt against the October daily Mean of Taiwan/China (DMOPT).
