Asian Orthoxylene: Falls $25-30/mt amid weak upstream

lower this week, at $1.025-2.500/mt CFR China, and $1.055-2.500/mtFOB Korea.
This was due to falling upstream prices and continuing weak downstream demand,
particularly in China. According
to a trader, the OX market is "soft, oil sliding, and no demand."
Feedstock isomer-grade mixed xylene prices fell from $50-55/mt to $856-880/mt FOB
South Korea on Aug. 5. This could indicate that producers base their costs
on MX are likely to lower their offers. A
producer stated that buyers' ideas had been so low in recent weeks that it was
