all-time highs.- Tepid spot discussion amid lackluster downstream
demand, lower operation ratesThe Asian methyl methacrylate and
polymethyl methacrylate markets suffered further losses on July 27. However,
sharper falls were limited by run rate cuts at the Asian MMA plant. Due to a weakening China
domestic market, CFR China MMA fell $32-37/mt to $1,623-1,650/mt on July 27. The CFR SEA MMA marker, which tracks weaker CFR China MMA,
was down $5-6/mt on the day to $1,965-1,980/mt. The CFR SEA PMMA marker, which is used to make
general-purpose, injection-grade Asian polymethyl methacrylate, was down $5-6/mt.
It was $2,065-2,090/mt on July 27. PMMA
and spot MMA discussions remained muted due to lackluster downstream demand,
