Asian ethylene was assessed stable day over day Oct. 3 at $805/mt CFR Northeast Asia and $800/mt CFR Southeast Asia Oct. 3, as price discussions were scarce amid local holidays in China and South Korea. Market participants are expected to return by mid-next week. On a week-over-week basis, the CFR NE Asia price marked a $5/mt decline to a four-month low, while CFR Southeast Asia dropped $10/mt to a two-month low. Meanwhile, the FOB Korea price fell by $4/mt from the previous week to $769/mt Oct. 3. The price spread between CFR NE Asia and FOB Korea narrowed slightly to $36/mt on Oct. 3 from $37/mt a week earlier.
