to low demand downstream and muted buying interest, Asian ethylene prices
remained stable in January 11. Due to tight margins for end users, the
market saw little interest in ethylene imports. A Chinese trader stated
that the naphtha-ethylene market is so narrow that no one wants to import
ethylene now. Other sources were however more optimistic. Another
Chinese trader said, "I believe we might see some recovery following the
Lunar new Year, there will be some replenishing actions after the week-long
