Asian MTBE FOB Singapore was up $2.59/mt from day to day, at $733.84/mt. The cash differential was unchanged compared to the previous session for FOB Singapore 92 RON fuel Mean of Singapore Strip (15-40 days). Sources said that the arbitrage between China for MTBE and Singapore is not yet open. However, freight rates for a 35,000 mt vessel between China Singapore has dropped to a low level, around $21-22/mt. A second source stated that China's demand for MTBE is average and not very high. The blending margins for domestic blending are also poor. The source said that the market was quieter than usual, and "in a Friday mood" already.
