Producers aim to raise prices amid firm feedstocks / China ACN price falls since December

Asian Acrylonitrile was assessed down $5/mt from the last assessment of 2025 on Dec. 23 to $1,100/mt CFR Far East Asia and $1,110/mt CFR Southeast Asia on Jan. 6, amid falling domestic prices in China and FOB China tradable indication heard at $940-$950/mt. Domestic prices had fallen as a result of weak demand, a China-based trader said. Domestic Shandong ex-tank prices were heard falling by about Yuan 400/mt from the previous assessment to around Yuan 7,200-7,300/mt in the week starting Jan. 5. Import parity-wise, domestic ex-tank prices were at around $853-$864/mt, down about $40-$50/mt from levels seen earlier in December. However, producers in Northeast Asia also indicated that rising feed cost prices had been putting pressure on their margins.
