Asian ABS: High feedstock costs cause price rises- The ABS is up $10-15/mt for the week- A slightly weaker styrene monomerAsian acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS)
up $10/mt week on week at $1,345/mt CFR China Feb. 1, considering offers made
at higher levels and higher feedstock costs from upstream acrylonitrile and
butadiene. The
week ended Jan. 31, saw mixed input cost changes for ABS producers. Styrene
monomer was down $11/mt on week at $1143/mt China Feb. 1. Acrylonitrile was up
$40/mt to $1,520/mt Far East Asia. This data was last collected in the week
ending Jan. 31. Butadiene increased $40/mt
week over week at $1,020/mt China Feb. 1. As
of Jan. 31, offers were generally heard at a higher rate. Due to low demand and low acceptance from customers,
producers did not increase their offer prices in order...
