The February contract pricing was slightly
higher in the European polystyrene marketplace on Feb. 22. However, outlier
settlements were common this month with Eur10/mt decrease and Eur25/mt
increases being reported by market sources. Sources said that outlier settlements could be
due to individual circumstances such as delivery location and previous
negotiations. Prices in Southern Europe were steady. CIF
Iberia's import numbers remained stable this week, according to Asian sources. According to
one source, domestic numbers were stable, while prices in Southern Europe
appeared to be steady. CIF Iberia and Italy import numbers remained stable
compared to the week from Asianb> /b>sources. In
February's final week, benzene prices plunged rapidly in the spot market.
However, styrene prices have seen a sharp decline this month.
