Asia PX-naphtha spread widens Demand strong with peak bottling season



US April paraxylene contracts settled for 66 cents/lb ($1,455-1,460/mt),
April 22nd, market participants stated. This was 3 cents lower than March. Spot price movements for feedstocks MX have been slightly
lower than usual in April, so monthly PX contracts are usually influenced by
them. The weekly average spread between
feedstock naphtha and paraxylene rose $17-19/mt in Asia's influential Asia
market. It was $282-290/mt. Although the naphtha spot price declined, the PX market was buoyed due to tightening supply
and a better outlook for the future. The
spread with feedstock is closely monitored by US participants to determine
