The spot US export polyvinylchloride prices
were unchanged for the week ending August 31. This was based on September deals. Prices were set at $790-$800/mt FAS Houston.
This includes a base range $770-$780/mt FAS. An additional $20/mt was added to
cover higher costs of drayage trucking and storage of packaged material within
warehouses. The cost of freight, insurance and margins are
not included in the assessment. The September material initial
offers were made at $780/mt FAS or $790/mtFAS. This is $10 more than the August
levels. However, the offers were reduced to $770-$780/mt in order to secure
deals. A source claimed that deals are being made in
the $770-$780/mt area. Some buyers were reluctant to buy more material...
