- First time price rises since Oct 20- Higher margins of ethylbenzene could support- Downstream styrene demand remains weak

The US Gulf Coast benzene has been feeling
the effects of falling downstream styrene costs over the past week, but could
see some support from rising margins in downstream Ethylbenzene. The spot
price was at 298c/gal Nov. 4 after a trade at 297c/gal for November DDP. The
spot market had trended lower since Oct. 20 when it had peaked at 338c/gal According to Kpler
shipping data, a market source stated that the high margins of ethylbenzene
were causing benzene prices to fall.
