US August DDP-benzene was 2.50cs higher at
385c/gal on Aug. 10, in a market that maintained tightness. The upstream energy
complex continued to support prompt DDP benzene in a tight August market.
However, the forward curve remained stable in a market that has a bearish
outlook despite stronger upstream energy. One
source stated that the 100,000 mt of gasoline on the waterway from Asia to the
US was due to arrive by mid-to-late August, which supported a sharp
backwardation of the forward curve. Another
source stated that 82,000 mt of South Korea's export volume to the US came from
South Korea. This was well above the
average South Korean imports to the US of 47,500 mt/month...
