The week of November 7th began on a bearish
note for the Asian butadiene markets, as China dragged down prices. According to market sources, Sinopec, a key
supplier, lowered its local price by Yuan 200/mt and Yuan 7,000/mt between Nov.
7th and 7. According to market sources, the price was $840-$860/mt
based on import-parity. Sources said that the Asian
butadiene market will remain bearish through Nov. 7, due to weak demand from
downstream sectors, particularly synthetic rubber. Sources
also stated that there is a possibility of a decline due to the low price of
butadiene compared with naphtha. On Nov. 7, the price spread between
