US April propylene contract price settles

Sources said that the US
export polypropylene resin prices firmed in the week of April 27, amid concerns about
tightening supply due to lower run rates, key maintenances and tighter pricing. Spot homopolymer, polypropylene export pricing was up one
cent to $2,381-$2,403/mt (108–109 cents/lb FAS Houston basis), amid talk about
rail car pricing as high as 105-110 cents/lb. Additional fees of 4 cents per lb for transport to ports and
packaging are included in the FAS assessments. Spot pricing was discussed as high as $1.05/lb to cover
railcars for the week. Despite the fact
