The Asian benzene marker
saw activity pick up May 5, following China's return to work on May 5. However,
sentiment was still largely muted. FOB Korea's benzene price rose $18-24/mt
on the same day to $1,170-1,200/mt. In the
afternoon, a bid was made for a June-loading cargo at $1,173-1,215/mt FOB
Korea, but no trade was done. East China
domestic ex tank prices recovered with talks for the June H2 laycan at Yuan 8,730-8,760/mt
and Yuan 8,850-8,900/mt to discuss the prompt laycan. Sinopec also raised the East China benzene listed price to
Yuan 8.850-13.850/mt. The backwardation of
