- The previous price rise was attributed to the US and
Asia- Higher stability is expected for benzene and styrene

European benzene prices increased on Sept.
6 and showed more stability than gains the previous day. A trader stated that the
price spike in the early weeks was due to other regions. The European material
fell too much in comparison to Asia and the US during August's significant
pricing decline. The $51-57/mt CIF ARA forward delivery layman, which is up $3.75-4.50/mt, was assessed at $851-870/mt. The trader stated that prices are now stable and that bids
and offers remain rangebound. Styrene
prices downstream were stable with very little activity on the market.
