The Asian PET bottle-grade price remained
stable over the past week despite a tapering trade activity. Both buyers and
sellers opted to remain on the sidelines, while prices for PET bottles remained
stable. As buyers remain cautious about the
future, especially in light of volatility in the upstream markets, the demand
has been declining towards the end. According to
market sources, bottle demand is seasonalally lower in winter. Market
sources also said that sellers weren't in a rush to enter into trade
negotiations, despite slightly decreasing operating rates. Producers
have a manageable inventory and most producers have secured orders until
January. Market participants stated that traders don't
feel the need to sell as they don't have enough cargoes...
