demand for styrene due to low downstream ABS and PS demand. China's supply shortage
continues because of low operating rates and plant shutdowns due to
profitability issues. The downstream ABS
markets saw weak demand, with some producers citing a pessimistic fourth-quarter outlook due to low buyer interest. Due to the lack of discussions in the markets, ABS prices stabilized over the week. Producers
said that spot cargo talks were slow around Asia due to a lack of buyer
interest, despite low operating rates. A
