Asian benzene prices fell by $26-32/mt, to
$967-1000/mt FOB Korea marker Aug. 5. Spot market prices are trending down in response to weaker
upstream prices. A benzene FOB Korean
offer was made at $970-1000/mt, against a $951-970/mt bid for September loading
cargoes close to market close. Sources
claimed that spot benzene prices were being pushed down by weaker upstream
prices. The ICE Brent front line October contract price fell from $2.36-3.50/b to
$94.47-100.20/b at 0830 GMT Aug. 5. The
indication was lower on FOB Southeast Asia, with the buying indications from
main importers in China at FOB Korea plus $30-35/mt. However, the freight from
