The Asian benzene markets suffered from
falling energy prices and continued weakness in downstream industries on July
13. Some producers have had to reduce run
rates or shut down units due to low demand in downstream product sectors. Sources
claimed that benzene prices are being recalibrated following the sharp fall in
oil prices. FOB Korea's benzene physical indicator fell for
the third consecutive session, falling $31.33-36.25/mt to $1,050-1,080/mt.
SKGeoCentric Singapore bid for September FOB Korean cargo was last at $1,049-1,080/mt
in the Market on Close. The domestic east China market price
discussions were stable at the end of the day, despite volatility in oil prices
