Pre-holiday purchases from end-users
December 21 led to Asia naphtha's market. Tenders for H1 February deliveries to
North Asia helped boost sentiment. The
increase in activity led to backwardation in naphtha paper markets. Brokers
pegged the front-month January/February Mean of Japan naphtha Swap Time Spread
at $6.25-7.50/mt in late-afternoon trading. This spread was 75 cents/mt wider
than the Dec. 20 Asian Market close. Six
spot tenders have been issued so far this week. Sources said that Unv1's CPC
and Japan's AMEC, as well as South Korea's SK Energy, are issuing tenders for
feedstock naphtha Dec. 21. A source
