The US spot market for
methanol remained weak on the day, as the spot was unaffected by a lack of market
participation. May spot methanol was steady at 111c/gal
FOB USG. A May methanol offer was heard at 114c/gal FOB ITC. For the past six days, methanol prices have remained steady
at 111c/gal. In June spot methanol, prices
remained flat and were at 113c/gal FOB USAG on the basis of last-known market
indicators. This was despite a lack of new market activity. According to market sources, market activity has remained low
in recent weeks as spot demand remains tepid. Spot prices have dropped 20 cents or almost 15% from the
month-ago period when they were 131c/gal...
