- Outlook is still bearish due to slow
demand- China's internal price negotiations rise
Yuan 250-300/mt

Asian caprolactam prices rose
$10/mt last week, mainly due to higher upstream benzene costs. However,
downstream demand is still slow. According
to market sources, downstream segments are focusing more on the consumption of current
inventory than on procuring new feedstock in a bearish outlook for final
product demand. East China price
negotiations were held in the Chinese domestic market at Yuan 11,900-12.100/mt.
This is an increase of $250/mt considering the higher selling prices. Asian benzene was $5/mt more expensive upstream than last
week, at $896.67/mt FOB Korea Sept. 1.
