Due to a weaker trend within the domestic
China market, Asian styrene monomer prices fell $2-3/mt on the day to $958-980/mt
CFR China and 953-980/mt FOB Korea on November 24. Yuan 50-70/mt was lost in
the domestic China prompt marker, which was Yuan 8,075-9,100/mt (ex-tank),
which equates to about $983.96-1010.50/mt if you consider import-parity. According to a source, market discussions were still sparse
and players were simply waiting and watching. The source said that the term contract negotiations in Asia
are taking longer because manufacturers try to raise prices to compensate for
volatile feedstock prices of benzene and ethylene. Buyers are not able to
