Spot export pricing of US acrylonitrile remained unchanged during the week, following a stable assessment by the CFR FE Asia marker Dec. Spot acrylonitrile in the USA was flat assessed at $2,120/mt FOB USG. A potential third consecutive drop was stopped by the stable assessment. Since Nov. 23, the assessment had lost $70. This was due to the decline in upstream propylene monomer. As US cargoes headed East, the end-of-the year demand began to decline. A source claimed that demand is "about average".. there is some year-end balancing between strong January sales levels and year-end inventory levels, so it is approximately average. In Asia, there was a waning appetite for deep sea US cargoes. Based on trading levels, CFR Far East Asia was flat assessed at $2,190/mt Dec. 14. The US export assessment was in line with China's netback...
