China's VCM demand weak amid lockdown FOB Asia EDC price has seen higher vs CFR



EDC: Asian EDC fell $20-24/mt
on April 21st, pushed by bearish Chinese demand and in line with weaker
downstream VCM or PVC markets. Sources in the market
pointed out that spot EDC prices in FOB Asia were higher than in the CFR market. This
was due to higher values in nonAsia markets. In the week of April 17, some deals were reported at
$650-710/mt FOB NE Asia. According to
trading sources, these cargoes are likely to move to Europe and other markets
than Asia. Data from  Commodity Insights revealed that FOB NWE EDC
had been assessed at $1,070-1,100/mt on April 19. This was $10 more than the
previous week. The data revealed that
Asian ethylene was hovering around $1,310-1,335/mt upstream...
