Spot acrylonitrile prices in the US fell
$20 this week to $1,560/mt FOB USG Nov. 8, amid mixed demand. According to current price
fundamentals, a source claimed that they could see prices approaching $1,500-$1,540/mt
in near future. However, the source stated that it was too early for them to
predict if FOB prices will drop below $1,500-$1,538/mt. The source stated that they don't need to drop below $1500-$1535/mt
in order to transact, and therefore expect prices to stabilize. There were few strong end uses, and demand remained mixed. Acrylonitrile-butadiene and styrene demand was below
average, the same source said. According
to market participants, current supply was being made-to-order as suppliers
