Asian butadiene was stable Oct. 31 as
compared to Oct. 28, As
market participants continued to wait and see, Asian butadiene is stable since
Oct. 14. The market was not active between
buyers and sellers. The spot market was
not in demand as there was still a lack of downstream demand, such as tire
production. Sellers were reluctant to sell
spot cargoes as the steam cracker margins would mean that steam cracker
operations will likely remain below 100 percent. The CFR Northeast Asia ethylene price increased $10-$16/mt
over Oct. 28, to $880-$900/mt. However, ethylene margins remained negative. The CFR Japan naphtha cost fell $9/mt to $684.125/mt Oct.

spread between naphtha and butadiene was $105.875-$120.987/mt...
