The price of Asian styrene monmer fell
$30/mt to $972/mt CFR China Dec. 7 and $967/mt FBO Korea Dec. 7, in accordance
with a fall in crude futures. Sources
in North Asia said that activity in the styrene market was still low and muted.
This price drop coincided with a general trend of downstream commodity prices
falling in line to crude oil. A South
Korean source said that there was also a weaker demand and limited activity for
styrene monmer. Benchmark benzene FOB
Korea was also lower at $755.67/mt Dec. 7, down $17.00/mt. At 4:30pm Singapore time, the February ICE Brent crude oil
futures fell another $3.33/b to $79.36/b. The
