European methanol spot prices fell on Sept.
29, as the market was mainly focused on contract price negotiation. The FOB Rotterdam 5- to
30-day spot price for methanol was Eur349.75/mt on Sept. 29, which was down
Eur1/mt from the previous day. Sources say
that at least 2,000 mt of volume was traded spot on the day. This was equally
divided between November and October deliveries at Eur350/mt or Eur351/mt
respectively. Even though there were
offers for October and November at Eur350/mt, buying interest was low. Sources said that the European methanol contract price for
