- Prompt/H2 July Spread widened further- Future price drop by 2.16%





Asian spot styrene monomer prices were down
$20-25/mt to $1,251-1,280/mt CFR China marker. The China domestic price was
lower Yuan 70-90/mt at Yuan 10,450-10,600/mt exp-tank. This equates to
$1,350-1,380/mt based on import-parity on July 7. China's domestic market saw physical and future
prices continue to fall on July 7. However, prompt delivery cargoes were stable
considering the low inventory and strong July loading for export markets. Yuan 125-200/mt
was added to the domestic prompt/H2 July spread. Yuan 445-500/mt was added on
July 7. Buyers might have to pay more to secure cargo due to firmer prompt
cargoes. SM buyers are also slowing down due to bearish
sentiments in the upstream and increased demand. The future
