Spot US export polypropylene levels fell
$22/mt on Dec. 14, a more than 2-year low. This is due to a lackluster export
activity and a depressed market. During the
period Dec. 8-14, price indications for FAS Houston homopolymer railroad cars
were heard at $35-40cents/lb. Off-spechomopolymer PP was talked at 36 cents/lb. homopolymer
price per head (PP) at 37-38c/lb rail car basis or $948/mt on Dec. 14, a drop
of $22 from Dec. 13 and Dec. 13.7. According
to one source, these prices are so low that only limited quantities can be
