Domestic China price rises Yuan 300-340/mt South Korea's cargo trades to Japan



Asian butadiene prices
were mixed on April 21. The CFR China/Northeast Asia markers fell $20-$40/mt
while the FOB Korean price remained stable. Yuan 300-340/mt rose on April 21 to Yuan 10,000/mt. This is
equivalent to $1,350-1,375/mt based on import parity and remains below the CFR
China price at $1,370-1,390/mt. The FOB
Korea butadiene benchmark price was stable due to healthy Japanese demand. According to market sources, a 1,000-mt spot cargo traded at
$1,500-1,520/mt FOB Korea to facilitate H2 May loading to Japan. According to market sources, spot demand from Japan was
attributed to the steam cracker turnaround season. Spot deals to Japan usually command a premium because
