US July DDP-benzene dropped 6 cents to
549.9 cents/gal on 7/7 as participants started to see the market as moving away
from initial tightness. According
to one source, the benzene market was volatile this week. The prompt market was
no exception. Prices fell. The forward
curve grew in tandem with the upstream energy gains, which saw the currency
rise by 18.38 cents to $3.4204-4.5005/gal on July 7. RBOB gasoline increased by 18.38 Cents to $3.4204-4.5000/gal,
on July 7. WTI crude futures increased by
$4.20 to $102.73-130.50/bl on July 7, a rise of 4.26%. On the day, the benzene to crude ratio was 2.24. This is
still higher than the historical average ratio of 2 - which was the level at
