Asian paraxylene continued
to show bullish trends and rose $64.67-70.10/mt to $1,380-1,400/mt CFR Taiwan/China
on March 9 and $1,360-1,385/mt FBO Korea on March 9. This was in line with the
strength of upstream feedstock naphtha. Sources said that
April-arrival cargoes were in high demand due to tight supply. They also noted
that May delivery interest was low, which led to a sharper backwardation in
April clay cans. The April and May spreads
for Asia-origin cargoes were bid up to plus $20-25/mt during the afternoon
session from plus $12-15/mt earlier in the day. The best bid for Asia's April delivery was at plus $30-35/mt
