APL halts production at Oxo-alcohols plant amid feedstock constraints

Andhra Petrochemicals Ltd (APL) has undertaken an unplanned shutdown at its oxo-alcohols plant this week. A domestic industry source informed a team member, “The plant was taken off-stream on March 17, 2026, due to feedstock shortages. Further details of the duration shutdown could not be ascertained.” Located in Vishakhapatnam, India, the oxo-alcohols plant has 2-ethylhexanol (2-EH) production capacity of 44,000 mt/year, isobutanol (IBA) production capacity of 3,000 mt/year, and n-butanol (NBA) production capacity of 26,000 mt/year.
