The week ended June 9th was stable for spot
acetic acids on the US Gulf Coast. Sources said that prices were stable despite
ongoing force majeures. Based on pricing indications of $2,000-2,030/mt FOB
USAG, export acetic acid was stable at $2,000-2,030/mt on the week. A market
participant stated that the AA they bought was from China. However, the US supply
remains very tight. According to a market source, overall market demand for
Acetic Acid was high due to the lack of US supply. A source confirmed this but
added that the seasonality of acetic acid was also a factor in current demand. US
supply levels will likely remain low as INEOS Acetyls and LyondellBasell are
all experiencing...
