to limited buyer interest, the Turkish polystyrene marketplace was slow during
the seven days leading up to Jan. 11. The spot price of CFR Turkey
expandable polystyrene grade was unchanged at $1,490/mt. Sources said that
the endconsumer market has been affected by bearish macroeconomic conditions in
Turkey, North Africa, and high inflation. Producer margins were under
stress and many were looking for ways to increase their sales prices. The
European feedstock contract price in January was up Eur115/mt. Sources say
that buyers were not interested in higher prices.Weekly
