Chinese adipic acids prices fell to multi-year lows during the week ending on April 9. The fall was largely due to the sharp drop in crude oil and benzene prices. Trade tensions were also causing recession fears. A Chinese trader stated that tariffs had sent benzene prices into freefall and this was cascading to the adipic acids market. Market sentiment is reportedly very negative, and there are no signs that the market will recover. A domestic distributor stated that the market was very bearish, and there were no positive outlooks.
