Amidst thin buy-sell discussions, Asian acrylonitrile was priced at $1.250/mt CFR Far East Asia and $1.250/mt CFR Southeast Asia on the 8th of April. East China's domestic prices were higher, with discussions centered around Yuan 9400-9500/mt. This is up from Yuan 9300-9400/mt one week earlier. Sources said that the downstream market pays attention to the commissioning progress of new ABS plants, but there has been no significant change in demand. Sources said that the acrylonitrile operation rate in China dropped to 75% from 82% the previous week. Sources said that the supply from China was largely balanced.
