Market sources reported that the Indian Acetic Acid market firmed up in the week ending April 10, due to tight port inventories. The domestic ex-tank price was around Rupees 38-39.50/kg in Kandla and Mumbai, almost stable week on week April 10. Inventory levels were depleted throughout west coast India ports. The CFR trade activity increased with a stronger interest in cargoes that were shipped quickly. A shipment of Saudiorigin goods due to arrive in India at the end of April was traded for $390-$400/mt. A trader stated that "not everyone is covered, but the tightness appears to be short-lived". Tradeable indications were $380-385/mt for cargoes expected to arrive around the end May.
