Acetic Acid: Indian acetic acids prices fell by about Rupees 1-1.5/kg in the week ending April 17, due to a slowdown in demand and lower international prices. Market sources reported that Kandla ex tank prices were higher due to tight inventory. CFR discussion levels were lower due to weaker international offers and a lower interest in spot purchases. Market participants said that prompt supply was tight due to an inventory gap, but they also saw the supply normalizing as we moved into H2 may and June. CFR India acetic acids were offered at $379.50/mt. This is down $5.50/mt from last week. Margins for downstream acetic ahydride producers continued being suppressed despite weak demand and higher feedstock prices.
